Waltz in A Minor, B.150 by Frédéric Chopin

Although he was known for bringing the waltz to the concert stage and setting a high artistic bar for other composers, Frédéric Chopin published only a third of his compositions in this genre. Many of his unpublished waltzes were written for friends, and it was the composer’s wish that these compositions remain private.

The Waltz in A Minor, B.150, was unknown to the world as a composition by Chopin until it was published in 1955. However, it was actually published for the first time in 1860 by his student, Charlotte de Rothschild, under her name.

This new, interactive urtext edition is based on Chopin’s original manuscripts as well as insights provided by his student. Two scores are provided: one with fingering supplied by the editor and one without. Both include a MIDI performance by George F. Litterst.
