This work first appeared in a 312 page book, published in 1846 and titled “Beethoven-Album: A Commemorative Book of Thankful Love and Reverence for the Great Deceased.” The book contains works by notable composers from all over Europe including the composer of this work, Louise Farrenc. Mme. Farrenc was a well known virtuoso who was Professor of Piano at the Conservatoire de Paris. The work is charming and not nearly as difficult as many of her other compositions.
