Nocturne No. 8 in E Minor, H 46 by John Field

Nocturne No. 8 in E Minor, H 46 is a ravishingly beautiful work by John Field, the composer who created the nocturne genre. Composed ca. 1821-1822, the work stands out as one of Field’s mature compositions and one of only three nocturnes that he wrote in a minor key. Thoughtful, moody, and full of pianist color, the work offers the pianist a rich soundscape for exploration. A MIDI performance by George F. Litterst is included.
