Ernst Mahle’s Sonatina 1973 is a great intermediate level contemporary sonatina composed on a Neo-Classical style. This work has modal flavors, and it is on a level similar to that of Clementi’s Sonatinas Op.36. This is a great piece to teach forearm rotation.
