Manuel Ponce is known as the first Mexican “classical” composer to be internationally recognized. A highly versatile composer, writing in the early-to-mid 20th century, Ponce was a composer of virtuosic piano music, folk tune arrangements for children, concert works for guitar, and numerious large orchestral works including concerti.
