The first Prelude and Fugue of J. S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1 is an exquisite example of high art written for keyboard instruments. The prelude, which is accessible to performers of the intermediate level, is very well known. This is probably due to its gorgeous harmony and peaceful character.
The fugue is based on the interweaving of four parts/voices, and it displays Bach’s musical genius.
